What is an AMC in mutual funds?
An Asset Management Company is the entity that runs a mutual fund's schemes — it employs the fund managers, makes the investment decisions and is responsible to the trustees for following each scheme's mandate. Your money is held by the fund's trustees and its custodian, not by the AMC itself, which is why a scheme's assets are legally separate from the company managing them.
Does the fund house matter more than the scheme?
They are different questions and both are checkable. A scheme's category determines what it must hold, its minimum SIP determines what it takes to start, and its exit load determines what leaving early costs — those are per scheme and are on each fund's page. What belongs to the house is the operational side: the SIP dates it permits, the cutoff it applies and how it handles servicing. GrowIQ does not rate fund houses and does not rank them.
How is this list ordered?
By the number of funds each house runs that we can transact in, largest first. That is a count from the exchange scheme master and nothing more — not a measure of assets under management, performance or quality. A house running forty schemes is not thereby better than one running four.
Can I invest in every fund house through GrowIQ?
Only those listed here, which are the houses present in the exchange scheme master we transact against. It refreshes daily, so a newly empanelled house appears once its schemes reach the master file.
